Broadband Terms and Conditions
Econet Wireless data bundles are accessible to Econet Wireless customers only. To access the all data Bundles the subscriber needs to be activated for Econet Broadband.
Econet Wireless data bundles are available on USSD 143, Econet Shops, Ecocash USSD menu 151 and 153, and other 3rd party platforms
Data bundles are available in both ZWG and USD currency.
All bundle prices are inclusive of all applicable taxes.
All bundles are both volume and validity bound, meaning the volume may be finished before the validity period lapses or there may be remaining data bundles before the bundle expires. Refer to annexure 1 for volumes and expiry.
Data bundles are usage based products unless stated otherwise. This means that the subscriber will pay to get a specified amount of allocation over a stipulated period of time.
Where a customer has more than one bundle, the bundle with the shortest validity has the highest priority e.g. when a user has a daily bundle and a weekly bundle, the daily bundle has the highest priority and will be consumed first.
The bundle priority mentioned in number 7 above is as follows; hourly, daily, weekly, then monthly.
Where a customer has more than one bundle of the same validity e.g. two 30 day bundles (5GB and 20GB), the bundle with the lower volume at purchase (5GB) has the highest priority regardless of which bundle was purchased first.
The times indicated on packages indicate validity only. Where a subscriber exhausts their allocation before the expiry of their validity, the service usage will be deducted from other available bundles, else service will stop working.
After depletion of allocated thresholds, and where the subscriber has no other bundle, out of bundle charges will be applicable, else data service will be terminated.
For data bundles that comes with peak and off-peak allocations, the peak data bundle can be utilised anytime of the day whereas the off-peak is usable during the off-peak period only as communicated. The current off-peak period is from 2300hrs to 0400hrs, meaning the off-peak bundle is only usable during this period.
Where a bundle is named after its use case like Whatsapp, Facebook or Instagram, its means it is only usable for that specific case and not the rest of the internet.
General data bundles like Private WiFi bundles can be used for anything on the internet e.g. YouTube, Tiktok, Facebook, Netflix and many more use cases.
Where a data bundle comes with other services like ecosure, buddiebeatz, gaming SMS and Voice, the respective terms and conditions for those products applies.
Subscription to all bundles is on the mobile number and not the phone. When a subscriber purchases the bundle it is credited to their number and if they change devices the line continues to enjoy the service.
The bundle can be accessed through internet compatible devices that are not network locked. This includes devices like modems and routers.
Econet Wireless delivers its broadband services via Edge, 3G, LTE and 5G technologies. For one to enjoy one or all of these technologies above, a user requires an internet capable device for that specific technology e.g. a 5G capable device will be able to browse on 5G network and the technologies below 5G.
The network delivers internet speeds averaging 70Mbps with top sites averaging 150Mbps whilst low performing sites may average 10Mbps. These speeds are guidelines based on user experience nationwide, a user may experience speeds which are either below or above these mentioned speeds.
Internet speeds mentioned in number 16 above are affected by the device (e.g. 3G phone) in use, application (e.g. Netflix) in use, time of day, location, physical obstructions, distance from tower, congestion on a base station, factors like load shedding and downtimes on a site or neighbouring base stations.
In the event there is a failed attempt in subscribing to the service originating from a subscriber error, funds will not be refundable. Notwithstanding the above, if the error is system related, following an internal investigation a refund which is equivalent to the charges shall be provided by Econet Wireless.
