The Econet stand emerged as one of the major attractions at this year’s Agricultural Dealers and Manufacturers Association (ADMA) exhibition, drawing a steady stream of farmers, agribusiness operators, industry stakeholders and visitors keen to explore the latest technologies shaping the future of agriculture.

Throughout the exhibition, the stand was a hive of activity as visitors engaged with Econet employees, witnessed live demonstrations and gained first-hand insights into how digital technologies are helping farmers improve productivity, manage risk and make better-informed decisions.

As Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector increasingly embraces innovation, Econet showcased a suite of smart farming solutions designed to support farmers at every stage of the agricultural value chain through connectivity, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and integrated digital platforms.

Among the highlights was SmartSuite, Econet’s flagship Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution, which delivers reliable, high-speed internet connectivity to farms and rural enterprises. The solution enables farmers to access critical digital services, communicate seamlessly and leverage technology-driven tools that support modern farming operations.

Visitors also expressed significant interest in EcoFarmer AI, an artificial intelligence-powered platform that provides farmers with data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making. By harnessing advanced analytics, the platform helps farmers optimise production, improve planning and respond proactively to changing agricultural conditions.

Another crowd-puller was Econet’s Agricultural Equipment Tracking and Fuel Management Solution, which enables farmers and agribusinesses to monitor the location, utilisation and performance of machinery while improving fuel efficiency and reducing operational costs.

The company also demonstrated its Precision Agriculture IoT Sensor Solutions, which use connected devices to monitor key farming parameters such as soil moisture, environmental conditions and crop health. The technology provides real-time visibility into field conditions, enabling farmers to make timely interventions that enhance productivity and resource efficiency.

Complementing these innovations was the Weather Intelligence and Risk Management Platform, which delivers actionable weather insights and forecasting capabilities to help farmers plan operations more effectively, mitigate climate-related risks and improve resilience.

Visitors further explored Econet’s Integrated Farm Management ERP Platform, a comprehensive solution that streamlines farm administration, financial management, inventory control, workforce management and operational planning. The platform provides farmers with a centralised view of their operations, improving efficiency and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Speaking at the exhibition, Econet representatives reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Zimbabwe’s agricultural transformation through innovative digital solutions.

“Technology is becoming increasingly central to agricultural success. Our role is to provide farmers and agribusinesses with the connectivity, intelligence and digital tools they need to improve productivity, enhance sustainability and drive growth. ADMA provided an excellent opportunity to engage directly with the farming community and demonstrate how our solutions are helping to build the future of agriculture.”

The strong turnout and sustained engagement at the Econet stand reflected the growing demand for digital agriculture solutions and the increasing recognition of technology as a key enabler of productivity, efficiency and competitiveness within the sector.
