What are Bundles of Joy?

Bundles of Joy are discounted voice bundles that let you enjoy more talk time for less. You can use them for local calls to both Econet and other networks.

How do I buy a Voice Bundle of Joy?

It's super easy! You can get your bundle through any of these channels:

  • Dial *143#, *151#, or *153# and follow the steps
  • Open the My Econet App and go to the bundles section
  • Visit any Econet shop and ask for a "Voice Bundle of Joy"

Can I buy multiple bundles at once?

Yes, you can! The first bundle you buy will be used up first, then the next one will kick in automatically. You can buy as many times as you like in a day - there's no limit!

Who can buy Bundles of Joy?

If you're a prepaid or hybrid customer, you're good to go! Unfortunately, post-paid customers can't buy these bundles just yet.

Can I use bundles while roaming or for international calls?

No, Bundles of Joy are for local calls only and only work while you're in Zimbabwe. They cannot be used for international calls or while roaming.

How long do bundles last and in what currencies?

Different bundles have different lifespans - some last a day, some 3 days, others a week, two weeks, or even a month. Pick what works for you. The bundles are available in both ZWG and USD, it's your choice.

How do I register for EcoCash?

It's super easy! Just dial *151# and confirm your details. Or visit any nearby EcoCash agent or Econet shop with your national ID or passport and we'll get you sorted.

How much does it cost to open an EcoCash account?

It's completely FREE to register, no hidden charges! There are also no monthly fees - we only charge per transaction.

Is my money safe with EcoCash?

Absolutely! Your money lives securely in your EcoCash wallet, not on your SIM card. Just make sure no one else knows your PIN, not even family.

How do I send money with EcoCash?

Dial *151#, choose "Send Money," enter the recipient's number and amount, then confirm with your PIN. It's charged at 3.3% of the amount you send.

Can I borrow money from EcoCash?

Yes! Dial *151*6# to apply for a Kashagi loan, repayable in 30 days.

What's EcoCash Diaspora?

It's a great way to receive money from abroad. You can cash out for free or move funds to your local wallet for easy spending. You'll receive funds in your USD Diaspora wallet.

What is roaming?

Roaming is a facility that allows mobile subscribers to travel from one country to another and use their mobile numbers in a visited network as if they are in their home country. All the services that you use whilst in your home country will work whilst roaming, such as voice, data, SMS, EcoCash, Banking services, etc.

How do I activate prepaid roaming?

Dial *140#, select option 3. Select option 1 to activate roaming and option 2 to deactivate roaming. Activation must be done before you leave Zimbabwe.

How do I activate postpaid roaming?

You need to do this at least 48 working hours before you travel:

  • Download the roaming application form from Postpaid Roaming - Click Here or visit the nearest Econet Shop to fill out the Roaming application
  • Hand in the printed form at the nearest Econet shop or send an email to credit@econet.co.zw, copy roaming@econet.co.zw
  • Wait to get approval
  • After approval, pay a deposit of 20 USD per day per line
  • Roaming is activated

Do I need to recharge before I leave the country?

Yes, you should recharge your phone with enough credit to last you throughout your stay. However, if you run out of airtime, you can still use your usual recharge channels including airtime transfer, EcoCash, and banks. For physical card recharging, you can only use Econet recharge cards/airtime vouchers.

How can I check my balance while roaming?

You can check your balance through USSD messages, by dialing *125#.

Do my local data usage caps work when I am roaming?

The caps only work when using data in your home country, Zimbabwe. Self-data usage management is encouraged whilst roaming.

Can I use my bundles while roaming?

No, local bundles such as Private Wi-Fi, WhatsApp/Data bundles are only for use whilst in Zimbabwe and will not work when you are abroad. You can use our smart roaming bundles available on *143#, for a few selected destinations.

Should I activate Out of Bundle Browsing while roaming?

Yes, Data Roaming is billed from your main wallet. If Out of Bundle Browsing is deactivated, browsing will fail as billing will try to access your bundle which does not work while roaming.

What should I do when I get to my destination?

Your phone will automatically log onto one of the networks in that country. If this does not happen automatically, you may manually select either of the available networks to enjoy your seamless communication convenience.

Will I access network in any network outside Zimbabwe and how much will I be charged?

What should I do if I cannot connect to a network while abroad?

If you're having trouble connecting, try restarting your device and manually selecting networks from the settings menu. Please ensure that your device is not locked to 4G/LTE. Network settings should be set to 5G Auto for the latest iPhones and 3G/2G Auto for Android devices.

If this fails, engage your relationship manager or email roamingops@econet.co.zw.

How do I reach the call center for assistance whilst roaming?

When making a call to Zimbabwe, a home call, first put in the country code and proceed to dial. You should prefix country codes when making calls.

You can reach the call center by adding the international prefix and then dialing: +263111.

How do I make calls while roaming?

When making a call to Zimbabwe, a home call, first put in the country code and proceed to dial. You should prefix country codes when making calls.

Why am I charged for receiving calls whilst roaming?

For every call received, the customer pays for the international leg of the call whilst the one who initiated the call pays for the local leg of the call.

How do I use data roaming?

To use data roaming, simply turn on your mobile data AND enable mobile data upon arrival abroad. If mobile data is switched off, you will not be able to browse whilst roaming. Also, ensure that your APN is set to econet.net.

What is an APN and how do I set it correctly?

An Access Point Name (APN) is a setting that connects your device to your provider's data network. To set your APN correctly, change it to Econet.net under Mobile Network settings.

How much am I charged for roaming?

Roaming charges depend on the country you are visiting and the network you are roaming on.

What is ACS (Airtime Credit Service)?

ACS lets you borrow airtime or bundles when your balance runs low, so you stay connected even when you're out of credit. Just dial *179# or use the My Econet App to borrow instantly.

How much airtime can I borrow with ACS?

It depends on how much you top up monthly. You may qualify to borrow either USD or ZWG airtime:

USD Options: $0.50, $0.75, $1, $2, $3, $5, $7, or $10

ZWG Options: ZWL $5, $7, $10, $15, $20, or $25

When do I repay my ACS loan?

Your loan is automatically paid back the next time you recharge. We recommend you repay within 7 days to keep using the service smoothly. You can't borrow again before you repay your previous balance.

What is Yogamez?

Yogamez is an online gaming platform made for Zimbabwean gamers. You can play free and paid games, join tournaments, and win prizes like airtime and gadgets.

What is Spin & Win?

Spin & Win is a fun mobile game from Econet. All prepaid customers can play! Just get your tickets via the web (www.winners.econet.co.zw), USSD (*804#), or SMS, then you're ready to start spinning and winning.

What is the Buddie Beatz Music App?

What is EcoChat?

EcoChat is your AI-powered chat assistant — built to answer your questions instantly, anytime you need help or information. You can access it by dialing 449, *449#, or send SUB via SMS to 449.

What is the FAITH Service?

The FAITH App is a digital space for daily spiritual inspiration. You'll find Bible-based content in audio, video, and text. You can find it on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or by dialing *205#. There's a 24-hour free trial available.

What is Yoplay?

Yoplay is a fun and exciting mobile gaming platform that gives you instant access to loads of games right on your phone. Just subscribe and start playing — it's entertainment made easy! Visit yomixplay.co.zw to get started.

What is Guess & Win Quiz?

Guess & Win is a trivia game for Econet users aged 18 and up. Dial 403 to sign up for a free 24-hour trial. After that, you get 120 minutes per day on 403 and unlimited play on 765. Top players can win cash prizes ($500 for first place).

What's the My Econet App?

It's a free app from Econet that helps you manage your account, check balances, buy bundles, send airtime, and more, all in one place. Available for Android and iOS users.

What is YoMix?

YoMix is a mobile app from Econet Zimbabwe that allows prepaid customers to create their preferred mix of Voice, Data, SMS, and other content services. You can download the app or dial *142# to access it.

Who can use YoMix?

The service is available for all registered Econet prepaid users.

How do I get login credentials for YoMix?

It's easy to get started:

  • Step 1: Download the application
  • Step 2: Sign up a new number
  • Step 3: Set up a password
  • Step 4: Request a verification code

How do I pay for YoMix bundles?

Bundles can be purchased via the main account's airtime balance or EcoCash.

How do I retrieve my lost YoMix PIN?

Click forgot PIN and you will be redirected to a page where you will be able to reset your PIN.

I can't access YoMix

You need to be a prepaid customer. Register your number on YoMix and create your PIN.

Is data usage free on YoMix?

The app is zero-rated, meaning using YoMix does not incur data charges.

Can I purchase a bundle for someone on YoMix?

Yes definitely. You can select the gifting option to purchase a bundle for another person.

What happens if I don't use my YoMix bundles within the validity period?

If you don't use up all the volumes, you will not be able to use them after expiry. We encourage you to use all the services you mix within the validity period selected.

What is the Boost function?

This is the option that allows you to refill your bundles once they near depletion. You can use the option to refill one or more services without mixing a new bundle.

Can I purchase more than 1 bundle on YoMix?

Yes! You can create more than 1 bundle on YoMix. You can have different daily, 3-day, weekly, bi-weekly (14 days), and monthly bundles. You can also have more than 1 bundle for each validity.

What features are in the YoMix app?

On the YoMix application, you can mix preferred bundles, gift bundles, do airtime top-up, do airtime transfers, and retrieve SIM PIN & PUK.

What about privacy & data on YoMix?

The app does not collect or share any personal user data, and all data is encrypted in transit.

Is there an alternate access method for YoMix?

You can also access YoMix via USSD (*142#), giving customers bundle customisation even without a smartphone.

What is MyKidzHub?

MyKidzHub is designed for kids between 0-16 years. It's available to all Econet prepaid subscribers with smartphones. Dial *682# or visit mykidzhub.econet.co.zw to subscribe.
