Background
Econet's story is defined by faith, visionary entrepreneurship, and overcoming regulatory and economic adversity. Following a five-year protracted legal battle fighting for a license to operate, we launched Zimbabwe's first private network on 10 July 1998.
The Launch
Backed by the visionary drive to reward everyday investors, in exactly three months of launching the network, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe successfully listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE), something which had never happened, and the IPO was oversubscribed.

Today, Econet is the largest provider of telecommunications services in Zimbabwe, providing solutions in mobile communications, mobile money, mobile micro insurance, and continues to be at the forefront, offering cutting-edge technology and innovations.
