Econet customers win big

11 June 2023

ECONET Wireless Zimbabwe last week gave away eight residential stands, eight solar kits and a brand-new Suzuki Ceremio vehicle to its lucky customers who participated in the Kisimusi Yatosvika/Ikhisimusi Sifikile and 2023 Tapinda/Sesingenile Promotion.

The promotion — which ran from November 24, 2022 to February 21 this year — saw thousands of customers walk away with various weekly prizes over the duration of the promotion.

The prizes included 52 refrigerators, 52 gas stoves, 130 smartphones and over 1 300 airtime vouchers, among many prizes totalling US$375 000.

On Wednesday, eight lucky customers each won a 300-square-metre residential stand in the newly developed suburb of Penrose in Nyabira.

The winners were Rhomas Chokuwamba, Colin Nganga, Lyford Nkomo, Stephen Mapfumo, Faith Panashe Maigurira, Fungai Masanzu, Allen Itayi Gariwe and Lainah Maruma.

“This can only be God. I have tried several times to get a legitimate stand and I am very happy Econet has done it for me. I am a proud Econet subscriber for life,” said Mr Chokuwamba.

Another winner, Ms Maruma, thanked Econet for awarding her life-changing prize in the form of a residential stand.

“I have always dreamt of owning my own house, and Econet has answered my prayers. When I first received a call, telling me I had won, I thought it was a joke. But here I am. My next assignment is to work hard so that I start building my house before year-end,” she said.

At the same event, Kudakwashe Mazunze, Happiness Munyeruki, Lucilia Moyo, Beauty Ennie Davira, Chimusheya Blessing Simango, Nomore Muriva, Amanda Sibanda and Mcepherson Gwindi walked away with a 2Kv solar system each.

“Today is a happy day for me because I received this prize from Econet and I encourage others to participate as everyone has a fair chance of winning,” said Ms Davira, winner of one of the solar systems.

Edwick Maruta, who has been an Econet subscriber for 20 years, won a Suzuki Ceremio. “This is my first car, and I am so grateful to Econet,” she said.

“I didn’t expect to win anything, let alone a car. God is amazing.”

Econet chief operating officer Engineer Kezito Makuni thanked Econet customers for supporting the company.

"We celebrate the prizes won and commemorate the enduring spirit of excellence and innovation that drives us forward. You (our customers) are the heart of our success.

Your unwavering support has been instrumental in propelling us forward. Each of you has demonstrated incredible dedication and passion.

We are humbled by your loyalty, especially shown by your participation in the Kisimusi Yatosvika/Ikhisimusi Sifikile and 2023 Tapinda/Sesingenile Promotion,” he said.
