How to Transact

You need to register for you to transact on EcoCash. Find out more on how to register.

  1. Visit any Econet Shop or EcoCash Agent  in person with the following requirements:
    • Original National ID
    • Handset and the line that is currently active for EcoCash
  2. You will need to give the agent/consultant their money which will then be transferred into your EcoCash wallet.
  3. The current minimum cash-in amount is $ 1.
  4. DO NOT LEAVE THE AGENT PREMISE until you receive a confirmation of the “deposit” on your phone.
  1. Dial *151# and enter your PIN to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Airtime and Bundles
  3. Select Option Buy Airtime or Buy Bundles
  4. Select Option-Text, Direct Connect, Data bundles, Social media bundles or Buddie Bundles of Joy
  5. Enter the amount that you wish to recharge (e.g. 2 for $2 or 2.10 for $2.10)
  6. Select either Option 1-My Number or Option 2-Other Number >>Enter receiving mobile number using the following format 077xxxxxxx (Econet subscribers only).
  7. You will see a notification on your screen advising you of how much you have said you wish to recharge and the mobile number you wish to send to. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  8. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent with the following details:
    • Sender:  Amount recharged, recipient’s name (if the recipients number is registered for EcoCash) or
    • mobile number (unregistered), their new voice call, text or data bundle balance.
    • Recipient: Amount recharged, sender’s name and their new voice call, text or data bundle balance.
  9. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you no longer need them.
  1. Dial *151# and enter your PIN to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Make Payment
  3. Select Option Merchant
  4. Enter Merchant Code
  5. Enter Amount that you wish to pay (e.g. 2 for $2 or 2.10 for $2.10)
  6. You will see a message on your screen advising you of the purchase amount and the mobile number you wish to send to. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  7. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent to you with the following details:
    • Transferred amount
    • Receiving merchant’s name/code
    • New wallet balance
  8. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you no longer need them
  1. Visit any Econet Shop or EcoCash Agent in person with the following requirements:
    • Original National ID
    • Handset and the line that is currently active for EcoCash
  2. Inform the Agent that you will need to make a cash out. They will give you the Agent number to use.
  3. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access your EcoCash menu
  4. Select Option Cash Out
  5. Enter Agent Code
  6. Enter Amount that you wish to cash out (e.g. 2 for $2 or 50 for $50)
  7. You will see a message on your screen advising you of how much you have said you wish to cash out and the Agent you wish to cash out to. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  8. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent to you with the following details:
    • Transferred amount
    • Receiving Agent’s name/code
    • New wallet balance
  9. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you no longer need them. A Cash out charge of 3% of the value to be cashed out will be deducted from your wallet
  10. Unregistered EcoCash customers should visit their nearest EcoCash Agent with the Confirmation message that contains the approval code. The Agent will initiate the cash out
  11. There is no cash out charge for unregistered customers
  1. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access their EcoCash menu
  2. Go to Option Send Money
  3. Select either Option 1-Registered Customer or Option  2-Unregistered Customer
  4. Enter receiving mobile number using the following format (077xxxxxxx, 078xxxxxxx)
  5. Enter the amount that they wish to transfer (e.g. 2 for $2 or 2.10 for $2.10)
  6. You will receive a notification on your screen advising you of how much you have said they wish to send and the mobile number you wish to send to. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  7. On approval of the transaction, a confirmation messages will be sent to both lines with the following details:
    • Sender:  Amount transferred, recipient’s name (if the recipients number is registered for EcoCash) or mobile number (unregistered), approval code and their new wallet balance.
    • Recipient: Amount transferred sender’s name and the transaction approval code.
  8. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you no longer need them and the recipient has managed to collect the money.
  1. Dial *151# and enter your PIN to access their EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Wallet Services
  3. Select Option Wallet Balance Enquiry
  4. You will see the following message on their screen: Your Balance is USD: X.XX

 

  1. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Wallet Services
  3. Select Option Account Statement
  4. You will see a message on your screen showing you the last five transactions that you made using your EcoCash account with the following information:
  • Date of transaction
  • Amount sent
  • Transaction code

*A charge is deducted from your EcoCash account for generating an account statement*

  1. Dial *151# and enter your current PIN to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Wallet Services
  3. Select Option Change Wallet PIN
  4. You will see a message on your screen asking you to enter your new 4 digit PIN
  5. Enter a new 4 digit PIN of your choice
  6. You will see another message asking you to re-enter your new 4 digit PIN
  7. You will see the following message on their screen: Your PIN has been successfully changed
  1. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Select Option Make Payment
  3. Select Option Pay Bill
  4. Enter the Biller Code (e.g. 22108 for DSTV)>>Amount>>Account Number>>Bouquet>> Number of months>> Confirm
  5. Enter the amount that you wish to pay e.g. 5 for $5 or 5.10 for $5.10 (minimum $5.00)
  6. You will see the following notification on your screen: You are paying USD 77 to 22108, DSTV, Enter 1- Confirm 2- Cancel
  7. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent to you on your mobile device.
  8. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose it when you are certain that you no longer need it
  1. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access their EcoCash menu
  2. Go to Option Banking Services
  3. Select Option Wallet to Bank Transfer
  4. Enter the amount that you wish to transfer (e.g. 10 for $10 or 10.10 for $10.10)
  5. From there, the following message will appear on your screen: Select Bank Account: e.g. 1.CBZSUBS
  6. You will see a notification on your screen advising you of how much you have said you wish to transfer and the bank account number you wish to send to. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  7. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent to you.
  8. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you no longer need them.
  1. Dial *151# and enter your pin to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Go to Option Banking Services
  3. Select Option Bank to Wallet Transfer
  4. Enter the amount that you wish to transfer (e.g. 10 for $10 or 10.10 for $10.10)
  5. From there, the following message will appear on your screen: Select Bank Account: e.g. 1.CBZSUBS
  6. You will see a notification on your screen advising you of how much you have said you wish to transfer and the bank account number you wish to transfer from. From there you can either Select Option 1-Approve or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
  7. If you approve the transaction, a confirmation message will be sent to you.
  8. Keep these confirmation messages as reference and only dispose of them when you are certain that you are no longer need them
  9. *There is currently NO EcoCash charge for this type of transaction. You will have to confirm with your bank if it is going to charge you for sending money to your EcoCash account.
  1. Dial *151# and enter you pin to access your EcoCash menu
  2. Go to Option Banking Services
  3. Select Option Account Statement
  4. From there, the following message will appear on your screen: Select Bank Account: e.g. 1.CBZSUBS
  5. If you approve the transaction, a message will appear on your screen showing you the last three transactions for your account.
  6. *There is currently NO charge for this type of transaction.
    1. Dial *151# and enter your PIN to access your EcoCash menu
    2. Go to Option Banking Services
    3. Select Option Balance Enquiry
    4. From there, the following message will appear on your screen: Select Bank Account: e.g. 1.CBZSUBS
    5. From there you can either Select Option 1-Confirm or Option 2-Cancel the transaction.
    6. If you approve the transaction, a message will appear on your screen showing you your bank account.

*There is currently NO charge for this type of transaction.
