To become a leader in service provision from inception, Econet embarked on a major investment project to open a contact centre, to assist subscribers with enquiries related to its services. In this view, we are proud to have established a toll free call center, which handles on average 18 000 calls per week, and is manned by 26 operators.
Econet Contact Center
The Econet Contact Center, which can be accessed by dialing 111 from your Econet line toll free, or 091 111 from any other network or land line is available seven day a week 365 days in a year. Our operators are available to assist clients from 0700hrs to 2200hrs.Our
valued subscribers are also encouraged to utilise the call centre's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) which is available 24 hours a day. IVR is a system that has been put in place to assist customers electronically to gain access to some of Econet's services and information. A customer can have all the assistance they require without having to speak to an operator.
Subscribers can get assistance with such issues as Voicemail and SMS, tariffs, current time enquiries and additional product information. Econet was the first network operator in the country to offer IVR, and we encourage our subscribers to use the technology to their best advantage
SMS Help Center
Econet also has a customer support system which is SMS based. It is designed to give automated responses to those customers who may need specific information on any Econet products and services. To get the information, customers may type a keyword or the abbreviation of the
keyword and send it to 111. They will get the an automated answer without having to call to speak to an operator. The sms to 111 is free. For more information, and to view the list of key words please click here .
Econet Crisis Center
By dialing 112, subscribers calls can be forwarded to emergency services
such as ambulance, fire and police. No matter where you are within the country, you only need to dial 112 from your Econet line and you will be connected to the nearest crisis center. The Econet Crisis center is available to our customer 24hr a day all year round.
